Who can participate in the program? What are the requirements to participants?


  Is there an age limit to participate in the lottery?

  No age restriction. However, the requirements for the level of education or experience may restrict the participation of persons under 18 years of age. It should be borne in mind that the lottery winner must provide documentary evidence of secondary education or experience is not at the time of the questionnaire, but only after being notified of winning the "Green Card". Thus, those who complete high school or gets a two-year work experience in 2011, can fill in a questionnaire and participate in the Lottery.

   What are the requirements for education or work experience?

  Apart from the usual requirements to all who wish to get a "green card" to win the lottery presented to one particular requirement. According to the law, to obtain a green card, winning the lottery may only persons with no education or below average, or a two-year work experience within the past five years in the specialty, requiring at least two years of study or two years of experience.

   High school education or its equivalent is the successful completion of a 12-year course of elementary and secondary school, the relevant certificate of completion of secondary school (high school degree) in the U.S. (equivalent to 10-year secondary education in Ukraine).

   The required length of service is determined according to the latest edition of the handbook (Dictionary of Occupational Titles) U.S. Department of Labor.

  Attention! Do not send proof of your education or work experience, along with the application. If your application is selected, Kentucky Consular Center will send you detailed instructions on what to do next. If your application is selected, but then it turns out that you do not meet the requirements, you will not be able to get a green card.

      Natives of which countries can participate in the lottery?

   Everyone, except Bangladesh, the UK (except Northern Ireland) and its colonies, Vietnam, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, India, Canada, China (except Hong Kong), Colombia, Mexico, El Salvador, the Philippines, South Korea, Jamaica, Pakistan. People born in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan can not participate in the lottery.

   Most often, the country of origin is the country where a person was born, regardless of where the person lives and what has citizenship. In addition, in accordance with regulation section 202 (b) of the Act the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act:
- An applicant for a visa DV-2013 can be specified as the country of origin of that country, which was born of his wife (her husband).
- The applicant, who was born in the country, a citizen or resident at the time of his birth was neither one of the parents, may be considered as a special country of origin is the one in which I was born one of his parents.

    Each applicant, who believes his native not the country where he was born, must specify this in the form of its members.
